Hi friends, today i'm gonna to say about XFCE and how to install the latest unofficial release of version 4.12 on ubuntu based distros. 

There be people uses multiple desktop environment on Linux machine to easier their interactions between Linux machines. XFCE is a light-weight desktop environment, which is designed for UNIX like operating systems. It aims to be fast and low on system resources, while still being visually appealing and user friendly. The team releases multiple versions with many bug fixes and currently 4.10 released as stable version at April.

Still version 4.10 maintains as stable version. In this tutorial, we are gonna to say about v4.12 . XFCE v4.12 is not a stable release, its still in unofficial release. But you can able to install this in your ubuntu based distros by adding corresponding PPA to your machine. So, follow the steps to install XFCE v4.12 on ubuntu based distros.


Installation of XFCE v4.12 : 


Step 1 : Open Terminal by Accessories -> Terminal or CTRL+ALT+T

Step 2 : Add the following PPA to your machine to install XFCE v4.12

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.10
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12

Step 3 : Then update the software repository by

sudo apt-get update

Step 4 : After updated the software repository, install XFCE v4.12 by

sudo apt-get install xfce4

That's all. You are done.
