But the higher version of Ubuntu version 13.04/13.10 only allows user to install the latest version 1.4.3-1 of OpenShot Video Editor. But other lower versions doesn't allow user to install the latest version. Still there are lot of users using 12.04 Lts version and 11.10 also. For those users it can be done with installing latest version by adding PPA to the system.

Installation :

Let see how to install latest version of 1.4.3-1 by adding PPA on Ubuntu.

Step 1 : Open terminal by Accessories -> Terminal or CTRL+ALT+T

Step 2 : Add PPA by entering the following command in your terminal.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/ppa


Step 3 : Update the repository by

sudo apt-get update

Step 4 : Now Install the latest version of 1.4.3-1 OpenShot Video Editor by

sudo apt-get install openshot
