System cleaning is a task of removing unwanted files to free disk space to make a computer as works faster. There are many tools are available. But those are not a free softwares and not available specifically for Linux machines. So i found a utility tool called BleachBit, which performs system cleaning for Linux and windows machines.

BleachBit is an Open Source cross-platform application, which performs task of system cleaning. i.e. BleachBit used to free disk space and maintains privacy. It performs the operations of freeing disk space by clearing cache memory, Internet history, browser cookies, broken shortcuts, temporary files ,logs and more. It supports Firefox, chrome, opera and installed browsers in your system. BleachBit identifies and erases broken menu entries, cache, cookies, localizations, recent document lists, and temporary files in Firefox, OpenOffice.org, Bash, and 50 other applications. BleachBit v1.0 has been released now. Let see the changes or features in BleachBit v1.0

Installation :


For Linux machines...

Step 1 : Go here to download BleachBit v1.0

==> DOWNLOAD

Step 2 : Then choose corresponding distribution package to download it. i.e Debian and Ubuntu based distro users choose corresponding deb package, Fedora, CentOS, RHEL, SLE and OpenSUSE users choose corresponding rpm package to download it.

After downloaded, just normally open to install it. It will automatically installed.


For Windows machines...

Step 1 : Go here to download BleachBit v1.0

==> DOWNLOAD

Step 2 : Download the exe file and run it to install BleachBit.

When you are finished, open BleachBit.



Using BleachBit : 

Open BleachBit and choose the categories which are all want to delete the files.


Before deleting, select the category boxes , which are all you want to free the space.



After selection, Press Clean button on the top of the panel and confirm the Delete action.




 When the files are deleted, it will display like this.
